PDF to SCORM Converter

EngagedLab converts a PDF into an interactive, gamified learning lab — not a flat page inside a SCORM wrapper. It reads your document, builds quizzes, challenges and case studies from the content, checks the result against 32 quality gates, then exports SCORM 1.2 and 2004 packages, or connects live over LTI 1.3.

Turn a lecture handout, textbook chapter or study guide PDF into a complete interactive lab your LMS can track.

Free for 4 labs/week. Premium from £14.99/month.

How the conversion works

1

Upload your PDF

Drop in a lecture PDF, handout, reading or study guide. EngagedLab extracts the text, structure and key concepts and classifies the material by subject domain and level.

2

AI transforms it into a lab

Instead of embedding the file, the platform generates an interactive gamified lab from the content — quizzes, challenges, case studies, practice tasks and reflection prompts with Bloom's-tagged questions.

3

Validated by 32 quality gates

Every generated lab passes through 32 automated quality gates plus schema validation, checking factual grounding, answer correctness, difficulty balance and pedagogical structure before you see it.

4

Export SCORM or connect via LTI

The result exports as SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 packages with learner-state persistence (cmi.suspend_data), or connects live over LTI 1.3 Advantage with AGS grade passback.

Not just a SCORM wrapper

Most "PDF to SCORM" tools wrap your PDF in a SCORM manifest so the LMS can launch it and mark it complete — the learner still just reads a document. EngagedLab is different: it reads the PDF and authors genuinely new interactive activities from the material, so learners answer questions, work through case studies and get scored, and your LMS receives real completion and grade data.

What it does

  • Extracts concepts and structure from text-based PDFs across 21 subject domains
  • Generates quizzes, challenges, case studies, practice tasks and reflection sections
  • Bloom's-taxonomy-tagged questions for balanced cognitive difficulty
  • SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 export with cmi.suspend_data learner-state persistence
  • LTI 1.3 Advantage launch with AGS grade passback to the LMS gradebook
  • Offline-capable packages built on the universal Blackboard runtime engine

What it does not do: It does not reproduce your PDF page-for-page or preserve its exact layout — it authors new interactive activities from the content, so the output is a lab rather than a copy of the document.

Frequently asked questions

Does it just embed my PDF in a SCORM file?

No. Wrapping a PDF in a SCORM shell is exactly what EngagedLab avoids. The platform reads the document and generates new interactive activities — quizzes, challenges and case studies — from the material, so learners actively work through the content rather than scrolling a static file.

Which SCORM versions does it export?

Both SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004. Each package ships the Blackboard universal runtime engine and persists learner state through cmi.suspend_data, so progress and scores survive across sessions and resume correctly in your LMS.

Will it work with scanned or image-only PDFs?

It works best with text-based PDFs, where it can extract concepts and structure directly. Scanned image-only PDFs with no selectable text are not reliable sources, since there is no text for the pipeline to read and transform.

Can I edit the lab before exporting?

Yes. The generated lab opens in the builder where you can review, edit and refine every section before you export the SCORM package or publish it over LTI, so you stay in control of the final result.
